Description
The Jewish people go through all the stages of the natural cycle – birth, maturation, maturity and aging – only to start all over again. At the same time, each era of Jewish history can be considered as a kind of “collective biography”. From this point of view, the articles of famous scholars tell about the biblical period of the history of the Jewish people, about the clash of Jewish culture with Hellenism, about the situation in which the Jews of Palestine first came under the rule of Christians, about the Jews of Babylonia, who came to realize the intellectual and religious significance of their community, and, finally, about the “alternative” Jewish culture that flourished in Arabia, where the Jews first came into contact with the newly born Islam.
