The history of the Jewish population of the Russian capital was not easy. Periods of cultural and economic growth were replaced by new oppressions and outbreaks of anti-Semitism. Vermel “Jews in Moscow” (published from an archival manuscript), a modern guide to memorable places of the “Jewish” history of the city and other, no less interesting materials. From them it becomes obvious how closely intertwined the history of Moscow with the history of the Jewish people.
