There are many children’s adaptations of the first book of the Bible, including in Russian language, but the book of Ilana Weissman differs in that the adaptation of the original text retains a Jewish character, free from distortions that are inevitable in publications that do not take into account (or do not know) the Jewish meanings and connotations embedded in the narrative.
Both the text of Ilana Weisman and the illustrations of the book are created with strict observance of the Jewish reading and perception of the Torah, which is very important when Jewish children get acquainted with it. Of course, the publication does not pretend to be academic, it is designed to give the Jewish child and, sometimes, his parents the opportunity to easily get acquainted with the main plots of the first book of the Tanah.
