“You have to keep up with the times.”
This idea was expressed more than two centuries ago by the founder of the Hasidic movement Chabad, Rabbi Shneur Zalman of Liadi.
By “time” he meant the weekly Torah chapter, thus saying that everything that happens in the universe in a given week is closely connected with the Torah chapter that the Jews read during this period of time.
The Torah remains relevant and topical in every generation and at every moment of time, and you can always draw from it modern essential conclusions, instructions and guidelines.
In these books, Rabbi Yitzhak Ginzburg delves into the chapters of the Torah and extracts from them new brilliant ideas, often quite unexpected, especially relevant for our time and necessary for understanding the essence of man and society and their relationship with the Creator.
