In the immigration to Israel, many of us became religious Jews, joined our ancient religion – Judaism. The main sacred book, the Pentateuch and the Talmud, has absorbed colossal historical information about the routes of migration, the laws that governed the life of the Jewish community after the release from Egyptian slavery and in the state of Israel. The ten fundamental commandments of the Torah are accepted by all civilized states of the world and are included in the constitution.
The Torah lists a number of plants used in religious rituals, hygiene, the construction of the ark, and also lists some plants from the period of residence in Egypt. Most of them are not familiar to their contemporaries.
The purpose of this brochure is to familiarize you with the plants used by our forefathers and foremothers in order to better understand their lives.
